Description
My fantastic field trip to the planets: Blast off with Jake on a live-action, musical, outer space adventure featuring ten original songs! Traveling inside his toy rocket, Jake's mission depends on the help of eight friendly planets and their pal Pluto, who magically talk and sing. Will Jake make it through the gigantic asteroid belt? Can he get back home before his mother discovers that he is gone? Songs combine fun lyrics about the planets with memorable melodies for one big whopping, planet-hopping experience that's out of this world!
Alphabet in outer space: Give your child the Preschool Prep advantage with this fact-filled, outer-space adventure through the alphabet from A to Z. While reaffirming your child's grasp of the alphabet, this program will inform and inspire on everything beyond our world, from asteroids to the Hubble telescope to our last stop ... the Zodiac!
Days of the week and understanding our calendar: What are the days of the week? What is a week? What are the months of the year? How do I calculate how many days are in each month? What is a year? What is a leap year? The answers to these questions are covered in depth with detailed graphics, diagrams and exciting video. On-screen, multiple-choice reviews at the end of each segment reinforce important concepts and make learning fun.
Comet - visitors from space: Comets have been causing fear in the minds of humans for millennia. Now spacecraft are helping us to understand what they are made of and how they behave. The time it takes for a comet to make one complete orbit around another object is known as the orbital period. The range of a comet's orbital period may be from a few years to hundreds of thousands of years. Short-period comets originate in the Kuiper belt, or its associated scattered disc, which lie beyond the orbit of Neptune. Longer-period comets are thought to originate in the Oort Cloud, a spherical cloud of icy bodies in the outer Solar System. Comets allow us to study what the solar system was like in its formative period. This program will help students understand why comets cause both fear and fascination.
