The Day the Rebels Came to Town

Gangs of rebels roam the country, stealing money, food, and horses. Carlos is twenty-eight years old. He works in his father's cafe. One day, a gang rides into Carlo's village. When the gang leaves, they kidnap Carlos. Weeks later, the rebels and Carlos ride into the town of Rosita. Suddenly, Carlos is forced to make a life or death decision. Robert Hough was born in Toronto and graduated from Queen's University at Kingston. He began his career as a free-lance magazine journalist and in 2001 published his first novel, The Final Confession of Mabel Star, which was nominated for the Commonwealth Writer's Prize and the Trillium Award. Hough is the author of The Stowaway and The Culprits. The Stowaway was listed on The Boston Globe's Top Ten Books of the Year. Hough's titles have been nominated for the Dublin-Impact Writer's Prize and the Rogers Writers' Trust Fiction Prize.
