        September 15, 2014
Frank Quinn thought he'd seen and heard the last of the DOA killer after a confrontation in Maine that left Quinn with a gunshot wound and the killer dead in a plane crash. The experts said no one could have survived the crash. Quinn has mostly healed and is back to work with his investigations firm, Quinn and Associates. The DOA killer, or a deadly accurate copycat, is back to work as well. The carnage at a New York hotel is brutal. It seems DOA targeted one young woman but was unaware she was chaperoning a half dozen high-school art students in town to tour the museums. The girls all met the same grisly fate as their chaperone. New York Police Commissioner Harley Renz reaches out to Quinn, his former homicide partner, to lead the investigation. Quinn won't tolerate being bested by DOA. The ninth entry in the Quinn series contains all the elements fans have come to expect: a painstaking procedural investigation, mordant humor, white-knuckle suspense, and a three-dimensional villain.(Reprinted with permission of Booklist, copyright 2014, American Library Association.)
