Description

With the plague of bogles in Victorian London barely contained, bogle hunter Alfred Bunce needs all the help he can get. And so Ned Roach becomes a bogler's apprentice, luring child-eating monsters from their lairs just like his friends Jem Barbary and Birdie McAdam. When Mr. Bunce is engaged by the London Sewers Office, the dangerous work takes Ned into a mysterious and hidden side of the city--the vast network of dank underground waterways. Yet bogles are becoming unpredictable just as times in London are changing. As the machine age emerges, some Londoners even question the very existence of bogles. But if bogles arent real, why are children still disappearing? Ned is convinced that the threat is as dangerous as ever yet soon discovers that an old enemy lurking in the shadows may be even deadlier than any bogle.
